The Watertown Men’s Summer Basketball League is comprised of two leagues:
- Papas Elite League, a highly competitive men’s summer basketball league comprised of current and former collegiate players across all three divisions
What They Are Saying About The League …
Chris Bartley, WPI Head Men’s Basketball Coach
7x NEWMAC Coach of the Year • Ranked 9th as Winningest Active NCAA Division III Coaches
“The Watertown Summer Basketball League has been the best league in our region for years. It’s great for us basketball junkies to watch so many former and current college players compete together.”
Michael Crotty, CEO of the Middlesex Magic AAU Program
2004 Division III National Champion at Williams • 2x Division III All-American
"The Watertown Men's Basketball league was a place I went to watch great players compete after college when I was a young boy. I was so proud to begin participating in the league once I got to college, and the league was the place players went to improve and compete at the highest level during the summer. I am proud to say I have been a champion in the league, played in the league for 20 years and had so much fun down at Saltonstall Park. However, the single best thing about the league are the relationships I have formed due to the culture and community that the league has fostered for decades. The Watertown League has long been something players and fans look forward to each summer as the best basketball league in our region!”
Michael Hinckley, Harvard University Licensed Mental Health Clinician for Athletics
Former Division III men’s basketball player at Dickinson College
“The Watertown Summer League has been the most competitive summer run in Boston for the last (x) number of years. There's a special joy in playing outside on summer nights that makes us feel like a kid again, yet also having top notch organization and Division I referees.”
Dan Holbrook, Professor of Business at Emmanuel College & Business Owner
Division III college basketball All-American at UMass-Dartmouth
“As a Division III college basketball player at UMass Dartmouth, the Watertown Summer League played a crucial role in helping me stay in shape and compete against top-tier talent during the offseason. In my senior year, I earned D3 All-American honors, and I credit the Watertown Summer League as a key factor in my preparation for high-level competition and intense games. Winning four Watertown Summer League championships remains a point of pride for me to this day. I highly recommend the league to college athletes, overseas professionals, and anyone passionate about playing competitive basketball.”
