Celebrating Darrell Pizer and His Legacy in JBO
Some people serve on a board. Some people lead an organization. And then there are people like Darrell, who leave a lasting impact on an entire community.
Darrell was the President/Area Head for Tualatin when they joined JBO in 1994, helping lay the foundation for what would become a long-standing commitment to youth baseball.
In October 2014, he joined the JBO Board, where he continued to dedicate his time, knowledge, and passion to the game and, most importantly, to the kids. Darrell was an integral part of countless decisions over the years. He always brought perspective, experience, and a genuine desire to make sure opportunities were available to all kids. His commitment went far beyond baseball. He believed in giving young athletes a place to compete, learn, grow, build friendships, and create memories that would last a lifetime.
His presence, leadership, and passion have made an impact that will be felt for years to come. He has been a familiar and important part of the JBO community, and his contributions will not be forgotten.
Darrell, thank you for the countless hours, the difficult decisions, the conversations, the leadership, and most of all, for always keeping the kids and the game at the heart of what you did. You will be greatly missed, not only by JBO, but by the many players, coaches, families, volunteers, and members of the entire baseball and sports community whose lives you have touched.
Thank you, Darrell, for everything you have given to JBO and to youth sports. Your legacy will continue on through the opportunities you helped create for generations of kids.
