Online Background Check, Volunteer Release, and Waiver of Liability
All Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Volunteers must complete and submit an Online Background Check, Volunteer Release, and Waiver of Liability.
Step 1: Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability Form
- Download VOLUNTEER RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY (PDF)
- Complete the Form: Print, sign, and submit it by:
- In-Person: Hand it to your League Representative.
- Mail: GGSA, PO Box 460843, Garland, TX 75046.
- Email: Send a scan or photo to ggsafields@gmail.com.
Step 2: Online Background Check
- Background Check: Start Online Background Check. GGSA covers the cost.
- Authorization: Once submitted, we will contact you to confirm your authorization to coach.

How to Reserve a Practice Field
Request by Text: Managers may text (214) 621-0705 each Thursday to request a practice field for the following week (Monday–Sunday). Field assignments will be confirmed by text message.
- 10U and older: 2-hour blocks
- T-Ball and 8U: 1-hour blocks
Other Fields:
- Available through the Garland Parks and Recreation Department website or by calling (972) 205-2750.
- Guaranteed Garland PARD slots require registration and a fee of $20 per hour.
Policies for Managers
A. Managers and assistants should read the Bylaws and Standing Rules carefully.
B. Each manager should meet with their team's parents to explain the association's functions.
C. Each manager is responsible for controlling their players' and parents' unsportsmanlike comments or remarks.
D. No player shall practice with a team unless they have been officially assigned to that team and completed registration.
E. Managers with complaints about other managers shall contact the League Representative, Vice President, or President.
F. Complaints regarding umpires should be taken to the Umpire Representative.
G. At the end of the season, managers are responsible for returning GGSA-borrowed equipment to a League Rep.
H. Home team managers for the early game shall place bases. Home team managers for the last game shall pick up bases and return them to the designated area.
I. Managers must report defective equipment to their League Representative.
J. It is mandatory for all managers to participate in any association-approved fundraising project.
K. New managers coaching ages four through twelve are strongly encouraged to attend league-sponsored training.
L. After each game, each team is responsible for cleaning its side of the stands and dugout.
M. No parking inside the complex.
N. Pitching machines may not be used if the infield or outfield is wet.
O. Coaches and players are never allowed to jump the fence to practice when the complex is locked.
