Volunteer Coaches -- Candidate Information

Athletics  -  Coaches Learning Hub

Volunteer-led Programs:

We believe in the power of local heroes. Volunteer coaches do far more than teach plays and run drills—they build confidence, instill teamwork, and inspire the next generation both on and off the field. By donating your time and passion, you aren't just coaching a sport; you're building a stronger, more connected community.

Fuel our team's success—the Foss Park District Athletic Programs simply cannot run without the dedication of passionate volunteers to start making a lasting impact on our youth community today.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passionate Mentors: A positive attitude and a desire to help youth grow matter much more than a championship record.

  • Community Champions: Dependable leaders who lead by example and promote sportsmanship, inclusivity, and fun.

  • Encouraging Guides: Patient communicators ready to help players learn new skills and celebrate every small win.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a Direct Impact: Watch young athletes develop lifelong confidence and skills under your leadership.

  • Connect Locally: Build lasting relationships with families, fellow coaches, and community members.

  • Full Support: We provide training, practice plans, and equipment so you have everything you need to succeed.

No prior professional coaching experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and a commitment to making a difference. Ready to make an impact? Sign up to coach today!

To become a volunteer coach, applicants must complete four required onboarding steps to ensure the safety, proper scheduling, and alignment of our athletic leadership. This thorough process helps us safeguard our young athletes through background checks while ensuring every coach is fully supported and committed to building a positive community environment.

To all potential candidates:
