NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS IS ALLOWED, COOLERS AND CUPS ARE SUBJECT TO RANDOM SEARCHES. ANYONE CAUGHT WITH ALCOHOL, WILL BE KICKED OUT OF THE EVENT AND IS SUBJECT TO GETTING BANNED. TEAM IS ALSO SUBJECT TO FORFEIT. BE SMART AND DON’T BRING ANYTHING ILLEGAL TO THE PARKS.
Length of game / Game times
6 innings or 1hr pool and 1hr bracket games.
No new inning will start with 5 minutes or less remaining.
Bracket games the 5 min rule doesn't apply.
HOME is already predetermined on the schedule and is listed on top. AWAY is listed on the bottom.
Higher seed is home in bracket games.
Bats
All bats must have new 1.15 bpf stamp unless it's a wooden bat.
Tee will not be provided, please bring your own.
Baseballs
Every team will provide their own baseballs. They don't have to be brand new. They must be leather and in good shape.
Sportsmanship
Please, everyone.... let's remember why we're out here. It's about the kids and not the adults. Please don't say anything negative about your child or anyone else's child. Everyone will make mistakes and they don't need mom or dad reminding them of what they did wrong. The same thing goes for the officiating. They're human and can make mistakes too. The umpires and players will do their job. Let the players play and the umpires, umpire. Please don't put it in the hands of umpires or Tournament Director to eject you.
Drugs / Alcohol / Tobacco
Anyone caught drinking, with alcohol on the premises or under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be banned from any "DF DUB" events and will forfeit the current tournament.
Tobacco and Vapes of any kind are prohibited.
Runs
7 runs per inning max
Mercy rule
12 after 3 innings
8 after 4 innings
Batting order
Teams must bat full roster.
Defense
10 players on defense are allowed.
9 players are allowed too.
If you only have 8 you must take an out for you 9 batter unless it's due to illness or injury during the game.
if you drop below 8 players it's a forfeit.
Courtesy runner for catcher at any time will be last batted out.
Walks
A batter can be walked only once per game.
Birth Certificates
Coaches, it's your responsibility to have them handy in case one of your players gets protested. If you don't have it to show during a protest you will forfeit.
Protest Fee
Protest fee is $50. Protesting coach must let tournament director which player he's protesting. If it's more than one player, it's an additional $50 and $50 for every player you want to protest. This rule is set for teams that suspect but aren't sure. Some kids are big, but it doesn't mean they're too old. My suggestion is to be absolutely sure if you're protesting a player.
If protesting coach wins his protest, he gets his money back and wins the game. Protest must be made before the game is over. If he loses, he loses protest fee.
Pitches
Batter will get (3) pitches from coach to put in play. If he or she cannot put in play after that, the batter will have (2) chances to put the ball in play from the tee. If the player cannot put in play, then the player is out. However, the batter and base runners can only advance (1) base if the ball is hit from the Tee if the coach chooses to pitch it’s counted as a regular live pitch. Batter cannot strike out from live pitches unless it’s the last pitch. Pitching coach can communicate with batter. Batter will have (5) opportunities to put in play. If batter hits the ball foul on 5th and final opportunity, he or she will have one more opportunity to put the ball in play. (Continuous fouls)
Coaches cannot touch the players at any time during an at bat to position them or on bases.
A defensive coach can be behind the catcher to help retrieve past balls, but the coach cannot instruct his players on defense from that position.
On defense you can have 2 coaches in foul territory in outfield area to help coach.
The maximum number of coaches allowed on defense is 3 outside of the dugout. (2) outfield coaches in foul territory and a coach just outside his or her dugout. They are not to be running alongside the field or foul line giving instructions. They’re to remain within 3 normal steps from the dugout entrance.
Base runners
Lead runner dictates when time is called. Juking and clapping is considered stopping and time will be called at umpires' discretion.
