Hello!
My name is Timon Marshall. I am the head coach for the Vikings. I look forward to getting to know you and your sons this year! I wanted to reach out to update you on some information regarding the season:
  • First off, you will want to bookmark or use Quickscores to access the team schedule and other information. If you go to this link, it should take you to the sign in page:
  • Our games and practices will be at Sunset View Elementary. There are soccer fields behind the school. We are going to be on field #1 for all of our games and practices.
  • It looks like our first practice will be Thursday night- April 2 @ 5:30pm. This is the time that the city designated us to practice. We don't have to use that time or location. However, if we want to use another location and time, we are responsible for providing all the equipment (mainly goals). I plan on using the time the city has given us, however, if that is inconvenient for many of you, we can try to come up with another time that can work for everyone.
  • There is a parent "pledge" that I will need everyone to sign. Basically, it is a sportsmanship agreement. The city if requiring that every parent sign it. I will bring the form to our first practice.
  • YOU MUST have the city issued jersey in order for your son to play. I have Jersey's for the following people: Charlie, Ledger, and Leo. I will hand these out at the first practice.
  • Players need to wear closed toe shoes. I would recommend cleats, but at bare minimum, they need to have closed toed shoes. They can wear shin guards, but they are not required to at this age.
  • The schedule for the most part is ONE practice a week and ONE game a week. We play 7 games and that is it. There is no postseason.
  • The first few weeks of the season are a little different. Our first practice is Thursday- April 2 @5:30pm. We have NO practice the week of spring break, but we do have a game on Saturday April 11 @ 11am. Then we have a quick turnaround and play on Tuesday April 14 @ 4:30pm, and then again on Saturday April 18 @ 9:00 am.
  • After those first few weeks we settle into our Thursday evening practice and Saturday games.
  • This is my first rodeo doing any youth sports, the city had mentioned something about snacks/treats after games. I don't know if that is something we want to commit to, but we can. I will put a Google Sheets link with signup information in this message.
  • If you have not watched this video yet from the city, please take a few minutes to do so. This is the longer version of what I talked about above:
  • Also on the signup sheet, I have an area for a linesmen volunteer. I believe we are responsible for providing a linesmen for each game. I believe that you will just see if the ball goes out of bounds on your side.
  • Ok, this was a lot of information, if you have any questions or concerns please let me know. My cell is: 770-365-0045. This is the best way to get in contact with me.
