Hello Parents,
I am happy to welcome you and your daughter to our 2026 Troy Parks & Rec basketball team.
We have a tentative practice on Wednesday, Jan 7th. We won't know the time until earlier that week because Troy P&R has to confirm the date with the school which is closed until the 5th.
It's safe to pencil in Wednesday evening and Thursday is our backup date.
A little background on me...
I've lived in Troy for 20+ years, coached all three of my now grown daughters in both basketball and soccer, and coached club basketball. My niece, Liz, is on this team and I am so excited that she wanted me to coach.
I emphasize fundamentals, good sportsmanship and teamwork. If you or your daughter have any concerns throughout the season please feel free to reach out.
The following applies to all games and practices:
It is recommended to bring a size 6, 28.5" basketball to practice. Keep it in the house- cold basketballs do not bounce. If you do not have a ball, no worries, I will bring extra.
Please do NOT wear jewelry including fit watches for safety reasons.
Please do NOT walk with wet shoes in the gym. Change into gym shoes in the hall before games and practices.
If you cannot attend due to conflicts or illness, please contact me.
Bring a water bottle.
