     The Renaissance City Softball League (est. 1998) is private 501(c)(3) organization and since 2001, we have been a proud member of International Pride Softball (iPRIDE Softball), one of the world's largest and oldest LGBTQ+ sports organizations.  iPRIDE Softball was founded in 1977 as NAGAAA (North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance) to provide inclusive, organized softball competition for the North American LGBTQ+ community.  It oversees 57 member leagues, 1,000+ teams, 20,000+ players, and hosts the annual Gay Softball World Series and the NAGAAA Cup.
     The RCSL Constitution Preamble and Mission is as follows:
 
"We the members of the Renaissance City Softball League, in order to provide a normal structure for the continuation of a softball league in the Greater Providence area, free from discrimination on the basis of race, religion, creed, sex, national origin, or sexual preference, with special emphasis on participation from within the LGBTQ+ community, hereby adopt this Constitution in order to formalize our objectives of fellowship and friendly competition."
"Our mission is to foster and coordinate local and national amateur competition, to promote sportsmanlike conduct, and to provide positive social activities for the LGBTQ+ community and our Allies. We strive to create a safe environment for all".
     The RCSL uses iPRIDE Softball Player Rating Guidelines which may affect your ability to play in the division of your choice.

          ***  NON-LGBTQ+ PLAYER PARTICIPATION           *** 
     Because the RCSL is a Private "LGBTQ+ and ally" Softball League and a member of iPRIDE Softball, we have strict Non-LGBTQ+ participation guidelines.  
  
     This league limits Non-LGBTQ+ Player participation to no more than 5 "straight" players in the field of play and no more than 6 "straight" players in a team's Lineup.  As a result, an asterisk (*) will be placed next to all "straight" Players on the Lineup Card. 
     As of this year, all Non-LGBTQ+ Hall of Fame members will receive honorary LGBTQ+ status and not count towards the Non-LGBTQ+ player limits.  Coaches should mark such players with an "H" on their Lineup Cards.
     For iPRIDE Softball tournaments, including the Gay Softball World Series and the NAGAAA Cup, teams are limited to no more than 3 Non-LGBTQ+ Players on their Roster.

     Your Coach will collect Player/Non-Player Fees to apply towards the RCSL $1650 Team Fee.  The Non-Player Fee shall not exceed $15.
     Non-Players include anyone who would be allowed on the field but do not play (coach, base coach, scorekeeper, etc.), any non-player sitting in the dugout, or anyone who wishes to be part of the league but choose not to play.  Registered Non-Players are entitled to the same rights and privileges as players as defined by our Constitution.

     Falsifying one's LGBTQ+ status to comply with league or iPRIDE Softball Non-LGBTQ+ player limitations will result in disciplinary action up to and including expulsion.

     For the consideration of being allowed to participate in the RCSL and with the knowledge and understanding of the risks or inherent risks involved by such participation, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, and assignees, waive any and all claims for damages against the RCSL, it's sponsors, organizers, city agencies, or any individual associated with the above, for any and all injuries or illnesses sustained by me as a registered player or non-player within the RSCL.
