What:These clinics will introduce the sport of Seven's rugby with a 30-45 minute staff-led clinic each session. This program is designed to give players basic skills and an understanding of rugby safety and rules. Skill development will focus on throwing, passing, and field positioning through a series of fun drills and games, so players will learn basic skills before playing actual games. If there are enough participants and time left each session, we will play a game of touch rugby.
When: Clinics will be held as follows:
11am-11:45am: 1st-2nd Graders
11:45am-12:30pm: 3rd-6th Graders
Where: Clinics will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the JL Sorenson fields (5350 W Herriman Main Street) and/or Wardle fields (14148 S 2700 W, Bluffdale, UT 84065)
Registration Deadline: July 7th or until full*. $5 late fee after deadline if available. *Space is limited, roster spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Weather/Reschedules: The only reason to allow the reschedule of a game is due to severe weather, low staff, or field schedule conflicts. The supervisor at each site will determine if a game needs to be called for any of these reasons. The coordinator will then email the affected teams and the rescheduled game will be made available via quickscores.com.
PARENT PARTICIPATION/SPORTSMANSHIP: We need volunteer parents to help out on the field each week. Each team will be assigned a parent volunteer coach to help organize the team each week and send out any team reminders or the snack list as needed.
