Useful Information
Tryouts:
Tryouts will be held to evaluate the athlete's skills and abilities. Every child will make a team. Take notes to build your winning team!
Draft:
Drafts may be delayed until all coaches have been identified. Following the tryouts, the coaches will come together for a draft selection (snake style) process to build teams. Draft rules will be reviewed, and questions will be answered at the start of the draft. Rosters will be locked in after coaches leave the draft room.
Practices:
Between draft day, and the start of games, coaches are encouraged to host practices.
Games/ Playoffs:
For a detailed look at your seasons schedule, view the sports webpage. A skeleton bracket will be available to view on the schedules page, with seeding. Once scores from the last games are entered, the bracket will be completed with team standings. Tokens of participations (trophies or medals) will be awarded to the top team during the championship games in each age divisions.
Communication:
We recommend registering as a coach QuickScores to receive emails and text messages. We will use these features in QuickScores to communicate to our coaches. For more information on this feature, click here.
Uniform Orders:
Coaches do not need to submit jersey numbers for their team. We gather that information on the registration form. Jerseys will be ordered the week following the draft. When the shirts arrive, we will contact coaches to pick up their shirts from the Ocean Springs Parks and Recreation office to distribute to their players.
Inclement Weather:
We will follow the recommendations of city officials when cancelling games and programing due to weather. We will also consult with our grounds maintenance team to maintain the integrity of our outdoor facilities. All efforts will be made to reschedule games, while preserving our planned season schedule. The general rule of them is that if you see lightening, play will need to be halted for 30 minutes.
Submitting Concerns:
If you have concerns about spectators, refs, etc. please contact the Athletic Coordinator as situations arise. We can hope to resolve any issues as soon as possible, and not after the season has concluded.
