FREESTYLE SESSION RULES
1.
Freestyle sessions are intended for skaters to train and practice specific figure skating skills, including jumps, choreography, dance, and skating skills tests.
2.
Freestyle skaters must yield to other skaters’ jumping patterns and to skaters whose program music is playing.
3.
At the discretion of Ice Rink personnel, skaters performing their program during busy sessions may be required to wear a sash.
4.
Stopping or standing in the middle of the ice is not allowed. Skaters and coaches may stop or stand next to the rink boards.
5.
Coaching may only be conducted by Salt Lake County–approved coaches, and no more than two (2) skaters may participate in a lesson at one time.
6.
A maximum of 25 skaters and 10 Salt Lake County–approved coaches are allowed during a freestyle session.
7.
All Salt Lake County–approved coaches and skaters must pay for the freestyle session before entering the ice.
8.
Headphones may not be worn on the ice. Coaches working on choreography may use headphones for that limited purpose only.
9.
Skaters must practice their skills in designated zones. The center of the ice is designated as the spinning zone.
10.
Parents and spectators may watch freestyle sessions from the lobby or bleachers only.
11.
Food and beverages are not allowed on the ice.
12.
Skaters must wait their turn to have their program played. A) Programs will be played in the order they are placed in the music box. B) If there is a line, a skater in a lesson may move ahead of every other skater in line. C) Skaters may play their music once per session, or again after all other skaters have played their music. D) Programs must be played from start to finish without pausing, rewinding, or restarting.
13.
During freestyle sessions, figure skates must be worn.
