JL SORENSON SQUIDS
The Squids program focuses on stroke technique, building endurance, and learning how to compete. The program includes swimming and dry land practices, monthly swim meets against other teams, and a Squids swim cap for first time participants (will receive cap at first meet attended).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Tryouts are required prior to joining the swim team. Tryout dates and further requirements are listed below.
• Monthly prices listed below will be prorated for Holidays and/or pool closures.

Tryout Requirements and Times:
Tryouts are held before practice everyday, 15 minutes prior to the start of practice                     (5:45pm & 6:45pm )

Requirements for Swimmers:

• Swim 100 yards of Freestyle (11 and over)
• Swim 50 yards of Freestyle (10 and under)
• Swim 50 yards Backstroke
• Swim 25 yards of breaststroke
• Swim 25 yards of butterfly
• A head first entry into the pool

Registration:
Squids Registration is by days of the week. There is no limit to amount of days needed to be selected (Min. 1, Max. 4). There are two available timeslots 6pm - 7pm & 7pm - 8pm. Swim Meets are held on Saturdays.

Swim Meet Dates:

January 17 at Northwest Recreation Center - Warm-ups: 8:00 am, Meet Start: 9:00 am.
February 21 at Salt Lake City Sports Complex - Warm-ups: 8:00 am, Meet Start: 9:00 am.
March 14, 2026 at Draper Recreation Center - Warm-ups: 8:00 am, Meet Start: 9:00 am.
April 18 - CHAMPIONSHIP MEET at Fairmont Aquatic Center - Warm-ups: 8:00am,
Meet Start: 9:00 am.
