    CEDAR GROVE PARK
    Griffin Cox Drives in Eight as the Mudcats Win Over Shallotte. Cox would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base Monday, driving in eight on three hits to lead the Mudcats past the Seahawks 12-1 on Monday. Cox drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the third, and a double in the fourth. Cedar Grove was also led by Kaleb Faulders, who had multiple hits in the contest and RBI's from Alexander Rogers, Reid Coartney and Liam Edwards. Despite the loss, Shallotte's Drake Long opened up his 2023 campaign with two hits to lead all Seahawks. Eli Granade collected a hit as well and Irving Carvajal scored a run.

    Both Southport and Town Creek came out on opening day looking for a battle, as both pitching staffs came ready to duel in what ended up being won on a final wild pitch to break the tie and move the Storm to 1-0 on the season. Southport's Jaxon Wallace picked the win, pitching 5 1/3 innings with no earned runs. He struck out 8. Drew Fisher led the way at the plate, going 2 for 3 with an RBI.

    CEDAR GROVE PARK
    The Tar Heels downed Cedar Grove 14-5. Three Town Creek pitchers held the Mudcats to six hits and three earned runs. Brayden Hauser got the win on the mound pitching in relief. He struck out five in 3.1 innings. Liam Whittington and Camden Pszczultkoski led the way at the plate with three hits each. Whittington drove in three runs. Hauser also had three RBIs with two hits. Brayden Edwards added two hits.

    The Southport squad came out firing on all cylinders Monday night. They collected 12 hits on the night, led by 3-hit games from Drew Fisher and Ashton Mote. Fisher was a homer shy of the cycle with 4 RBI. Mote also added 2 RBI. Jayden Daniels had two hits with 2 RBI and Jaxon Wallace singled and scored 3 runs. Jess Bowling pitched 4 complete innings for the Storm, allowing no earned runs with 7 punchouts to go along with it. Daniels took over for Bowling in the 5th, striking out the side.Shallotte's Drake Long had a hit and RBI in the contest and Eli Granade scored the lone Seahawk run.

    Shallotte picked up their first win of the season on Thursday night with the help of Eli Granade, who collected 2 triples, 2 RBI and was the winning pitcher in game one. The Seahawks squad was also helped by Joe Miglimore, Irving Carvajal and Logan Moore who all had 2 hits. Drake Long, Garrison Abbott, Dayton Smith and Luke Helms all had hits in the contest.

    JUNIOR DIXIE GAME - The Seahawks Jr squad picked up the win in the nightcap, thanks in part by Irving Carvajal who got the win on the mound and had two hits, including a triple and RBI. Dayton Smith and Aiden Cheek both had multi-hit games. Logan Moore and Chris Nance singled Thursday night and Luke Helms picked up the save.

    SHALLOTTE PARK
    One of the league's oldest rivalries battled it out Monday night in a game that didn't disappoint. The Shallotte Seahawks got the win behind a big night from Eli Granade, who was the winning pitcher and also contributed offensively with two hits, including a triple. Dayton Smith also had a multi-hit night, including a double and 2 RBI. Tye Coffey, Drake Long and Brantley Ellington all had hits in the game as well. Riley Norcross had a big night for Town Creek, leading all hitters with three hits on the night.

    Southport continued their early season success with a big win at home against Waccamaw. Jess Bowling pitched 4 complete innings, allowing no earned runs while striking out 10 Bad Boyz. Drew Fisher pitched the final frame, striking out the side. Fisher and Jayden Daniels paced the Storm offense with 2 hits apiece, each hitting doubles while Fisher collected 4 RBI. Jayden Rivera, Brody Beatini, Jess Bowling, Arlee Potter, Eliott Swartzendruber and Jackson Wall all got hits for Southport as well with Wall adding 3 RBI as well.

    Griffin Cox helped pace the Cedar Grove offense past Town Creek as he drove in four on three hits Monday night. Cooper Wilson got the start for the Mudcats, pitching two innings while striking out five and walking only one. Kaleb Faulders stole a pair of bases in the win. Khalil Perkins led the Bulldogs with a one hit in two at bats.

    Liam Whittington pitched a CG allowing just 1 hit while striking out 7 in the five inning game. Brayden Edwards and Cyler Hancock both had two hits while Hancock had a pair of doubles. Brayden Hauser also doubled. Edwards scored three runs.

    In the nightcap, Camden Pszczultkoski pitched a perfect three innings with nine strikeouts. Nolan Reeves and Pszczultkoski each had bases loaded triples to lead all hitters. Dean Ryals scored three runs with three base on balls.

    In the lone game Friday night, the Mudcats ran off with the lead late in the game after being tied for most of the early part. Kaleb Faulders broke it open in the fourth with a 2 run double. Faulders drove in four runs on the night on two hits. Cooper Wilson and Jaden Gore both drove in runs as well. Liam Edmonds was the winning pitcher for Cedar Grove. Shallotte's Connor Wilkerson doubled in the contest and Irving Carjaval singled.

    The 1st place Storm beat Shallotte behind a big night from Drew Fisher, who collected 3 hits and 5 RBI. Jaxon Wallace also had a mult-hit game, including a 2B. Brody Beatini, Jess Bowling, Tyler Jamerson and Jayden Rossi all had hits for Southport. Bolwing picked up the win on the mound, pitching 4 complete innings, striking out 7 Seahawks while allowing 3 runs. Wallace pitched the 5th, striking out 2.

    Town Creek Tar Heels defeated Cedar Grove 5-0 in a pitchers duel between Camden Pszczultkoski and Kaleb Faulders. The Tar Heela were able to take advantage of five Mudcat errors as neither hurler allowed an unearned run. Pszczultkoski got the win pitching the complete game shutout scattering four hits, with seven strikeouts while walking just one batter. Faulders was equally impressive allowing just four hits with seven strikeouts. Pszczultkoski and Brayden Edwards led the Tar Heels with a double each and Edwards drove in a pair of runs. Riley Norcross and Dean Ryals had the other Tar Heel hits. Griffin Cox led the Mudcats with two hits including a double.

    After dropping game one of the DH 10-2 Town Creek turned the tables on the Storm in game two with an 8-2 win in the nightcap. In game one the Tarheels were held to just three hits with Brayden Edwards getting a pair and Camden Pszczultkoski getting one. In game two Town Creek had five hits while Edwards and Bobby Peterson held Southport to four hits with Edwards earning the win. Peterson, Edwards, Riley Norcross, Ty Hall, and Brayden Hauser all collected a hit for Town Creek and Peterson drove in a pair of runs.

    Town Creek Tar Heels revenged an earlier loss to Shallotte downing the Seahawks 15-1. Camden Pszczultkoski held Shallotte to just two hits over four innings, striking out five with just one walk. Brayden Hauser pitched a perfect fifth inning striking out the side. Pszczultkoski led the Tarheels offensive attack with two hits including a triple while driving in three runs. Riley Norcross drive in two runs with a pair of hits, and Hauser had two hits with a two run double. Brayden Edwards, Bobby Peterson, and Nolan Reeves all had hits for Town Creek on the night.

    The Tar Heels escaped with a 3-2 win over Southport Monday night in an old fashioned pitchers duel. Cam Pszczultkoski allowed four hits and one run over five innings with 8 strikeouts for Town Creek while Jess Bowling was equally impressive striking out seven, allowing four hits and two earned runs in 6.2 innings of work. But it was Liam Whittington that took home the win. He entered the game with the bases loaded and one out in the 7th inning and got out of the jam with a punch out and a pop fly. Brayden Edwards drew a two out walk in the last of the 7th, stole second and scored in a two out hit by Whittington to end the game. It was Whittington’s second hit of the game as he also drove in a pair. Riley Norcross, Bobby Peterson, and Brayden Hauser got the other Town Creek hits.
