The 2022 season opened up with a great battle in Supply that saw the Tarheels beat the Mudcats 15-1. The score doesn't do justice as it wasn't until the 6th inning when Leland got on a tear, scoring 10 runs. Will Jones, Fisher Goodwin, Colton Creech, Grayson Skipper and Dylan Stacks all moved runners across the plate with RBI's in the inning. Fisher Godwin was the winning pitcher for Leland. The fireballer lasted 4 innings, allowing only a pair of hits and one run while striking out 9 Mudcat hitters. Skipper and Stacks entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Cooper Wilson took the loss for Cedar Grove. Wilson pitched 4 1/3 great innings for the Mudcats, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 3 tarheels. Leland racked up 15 hits. Jonah Campbell, Goodwin, Jones, Stacks and Creech all managed multiple hits for Leland. Creech Stacks, Jones, Goodwin and Campbell each collected two hits. Will Jones hit a grand slam for the heels in the 6th inning.
The Shallotte Seahawks brought in the new season with a home win against the Town Creek White Sox on Friday night. The Seahawks were led all night behind their returning All Star, Gage Hickman, who went 4 for 4 at the plate. Hickman drove in 3 runs and came across the plate himself 4 times in the game. Shallotte's veteran catcher, Josiah Sneed, also had a multi-hit game going 2 for 3 and scoring a run. Nathanial Romero picked up his first win of the season on the mound. Romero was in full control going 4 innings, allowing only 1 earned run on 2 hits while striking out 11 hitters.
The Tarheels offense was on fire as Michael Peterson, Dylan Stacks, Fisher Goodwin and Ryan Grisso all had multiple hits. Grayson Skipper and Tyler Kelly both collected hits as well in the game. Stacks was the winning pitcher for the Heels, going 3 innings allowing only 2 hits and striking out 4 Seahawks. Gage Hickman, Ayden Cheek and Eli Granade had hits for the Seahawks.
Shallotte came out hot on Thursday night with a big win at Waccamaw. The Seahawks were led offensively by Connor Wilkerson and Austin Smith who both had 2 hits. Gage Hickman, Nahanial Romero, Eli Granade, Blayze Hickman, Irving Carvajal, Josiah Sneed, Dayton Smith and Drake Long all collected hits in the contest. Sneed got the win on the hill for Shallotte.
The Mud Cats knocked in 5 runs in the 6th on their way to a 9-1 victory over Shallotte on Monday. The rally was led by a Jaden Gore triple, a single by Kaleb Faulders and an error on a ball put in play by Cooper Wilson. Shallotte Seahawks opened up scoring in the first inning on a hit from Josiah Sneed. Cedar Grove pulled away for good with 3 runs in the 3rd inning. In the 3rd, Wilson's sac fly scored one for the Cedar Grove and an error scored one for the Mud Cats. The Mud Cats tallied 5 runs in the 6th inning. The offensive onslaught came from a triple by Gore, a single by Faulders, and an error on a ball put in play by Wilson. Wilson pitched the Mud Cats to victory in the contest. The righty allowed 3 hits and 1 run over 3 and a third innings, striking out 5 and walking only 1. Noah Faulders threw 3 and 2 thirds in relief out of the bullpen.
Mudcats's two pitchers didn't allow a single hit, as Mudcats defeated Town Creek White Sox 10-0 on Thursday. Kaleb Faulders induced a groundout from Dietz to get the last out of the game.Mudcats got on the board in the first inning when Trey Evans tripled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.Mudcats put up five runs in the fifth inning. Andrew Robinson, Porter Benoy, Brennon Faircloth, and Jaden Gore all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.Gore led the Mudcats to victory on the hill. The righthander allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Kaleb Faulders threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.Pszczultkosic took the loss for Town Creek White Sox. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out six and walking one.Faulders went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Mudcats in hits. Faulders led Mudcats with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
The Seahawks traveled to Southport Thursday night to take on the Storm. The veteran All-Star Gage Hickman led the way with 2 hits in the game. Eden Romero, Austin Smith and Blayze Hickman all collected hits in the contest. Carter Wilkerson got the win on the mound striking out 7 batters.
Town Creek got their first win of the season with a 5-4 win over the Seahawks. Thomas Callahan got the win on the mound striking out 10 over 6 innings. Cam Pszczultkoski got the save striking out three in the last inning. The White Sox played an error free game. Callahan, Ty Hall, and Pszczultkoski had singles and Hunter Small tripled for the White Sox. Gage Hickman led the Seahawks with three hits. The Seahawks offense was led by Gage Hickman who went 3-4 with a run and RBI. Connor Wilkerson had a couple of hits as well with a run scored. Blayze Hickman and Eli Granade also had hits for the Seahawks. Wilkerson also had a strong outing for Shallotte in the loss, pitching 4 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 1 run while striking out 8 White Sox hitters.
Thursday’s game was a true pitchers duel between 2 high school freshmen who finally faced off. Will Jones got the victory recording 13 K’s while allowing 3 hits over 6 complete innings. On the other side, Noah Faulders did more than hold his own by blanking the Tarheels through 4 innings before they finally scratched the scoreboard in the 5th. Faulders recorded 8 K’s of his own while allowing 7 hits through 5.1 innings. Fisher Goodwin came in to close the door for the Heels with 3 K’s in the last frame. The Tarheels collected hits from Dylan Stacks, Grayson Skipper and Tyler Peterson. Goodwin had 2 hits and Colton Creech had a big 2 RBI double in the 5th. The Mudcats were led by Cooper Wilson with 2 hits in addition to hits by Gore and Rivera.
The White Sox scored every inning in route to a 12-3 win over the Storm. Hunter Small, Ty Hall, Thomas Callahan, and Camden Pszczultkoski all had 2 hits. Pszczultkoski added a bases loaded triple. Callahan also had a triple. Pszczultkoski allowed 5 hits, 2 BB, while striking out 10 in the complete game effort. The White Sox didn’t make a fielding error for the second straight game.
Cooper Wilson was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Monday, driving in four on two hits to lead the Mudcats past Waccamaw Bad Boyz 19-8. Wilson drove in runs on a single in the first and a double in the second. Mudcats earned the victory despite allowing Waccamaw Bad Boyz to score five runs in the fourth inning. Waccamaw Bad Boyz's big inning was driven by a walk by Billy, a single by Gracin T and by Nate F. In the first inning, the Mudcats got their offense started when Jaden Gore tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Gage Sellers was credited with the victory for Cedar Grove.. Sellers lasted three innings, allowing no hits and three runs while striking out seven. Andrew Robinson and Kaleb Faulders entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Bailey T took the loss for Waccamaw. He allowed four hits and four runs over two innings, striking out two. Mudcats scattered 13 hits in the game. Wilson, Wesley Wilson, Gore, Noah Faulders and Porter Benoy all had multiple hits for Cedar Grove. Benoy, Faulders, Gore and the Wilson's each collected two hits to lead the Mudcats.
The Seahawks came back from a early week loss in a big way Thursday night. Eden Romero toed the hill on his way to a 13 strikeout night. Returning all-star Gage Hickman had a big night at the plate going 4 for 4 with an homerun. Irving Carvajal also had a multiple hit game for Shallotte. Connor Wilkerson, Caden Coley, Josiah Sneed and Drake Long all had hits on the night.
The Mudcats defeated Southport 21-0 on Thursday as 2 pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Brennon Faircloth induced a fly out from Drew Fisher to finish off the game. The Mudcats got on the board in the first inning when Jaden Gore singled on a 2-0 count, scoring 1 run. One bright spot for Southport was a single by Brody Beatini in the 1st inning. Kaleb Faulders was the winning pitcher for Cedar Grove. Faulders lasted 2 innings, allowing 1 hit and no runs while striking out 3. Faircloth threw 3 innings in felief out of the pen. Cedar Grove racked up 21 hits in the game. Trey Evans, Jaden Gore, Noah Faulders, Cooper Wilson, Brennon Faircloth and Wesley Wilson each had multiple hits for CG. Evans led the Mudcats with 4 hits in 4 at bats. Faircloth led CG with 4 stolen bases as they ran wild on the base paths with 6 stolen bases. Beatini went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead Southport in hits.
The White Sox defeated Waccamaw 15-1 behind the three hit pitching of Hunter Small, Thomas Callhan, and Camden Pszczultkoski. The trio struckout 13 while walking just three. Town Creek was led at the plate by Callhan and Pszczultkoski with three hits each, each had inside the park homers. Hunter Small added a pair of triples and Ty Hall had two hits with a double. Kaiden Dietz had the other Town Creek hit.
Shallotte got the win Monday night with the help from Eli Granade, who had 2 hits including a 2B and 2 RBI's. He also picked up the save on the mound and collected 6 K's. Connor Wilkerson was the winning pitcher, striking out 12 Sox hitters and adding a 2B himself on the offensive side. Joe Miglimore and Austin Smith both had hits for Shallotte.
Brennon Faircloth was brilliant on the mound on Thursday, as Faircloth threw a no-hitter to lead Cedar Grove past Waccamaw 13-1. The Mud Cats fired up the offense in the first inning. They scored one run when Jaden Gore doubled. Cedar Grove notched five runs in the fourth inning. Kaleb Faulders, Gore, and Noah Faulders each had RBIs in the big inning. Faircloth was credited with the victory for CG. The righthander surrendered one run on 0 hits over four innings, striking out eight. CG scattered nine hits in the game. Wesley Wilson and Gore each collected multiple hits for the Mud Cats. They stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Gage Sellers led the way with two.
The Seahawks got the win Monday night behind a strong offensive showing from Gage Hickman and pitching outing from Josiah Sneed. Hickman collected 3 hits, including a 3B and 2B. Sneed struck out 8 batters and also got a hit at the plate to help his own cause. Austin Smith had 2 hits for Shallotte. Joe Miglimore and Conner Wilkerson both had a hit in the game as well.
Mud Cats jumped out to an early lead over the Storm and took home a 19-8 victory on Monday. Mud Cats scored on a sac fly by Cooper Wilson, a walk by Wesley Wilson, a triple by Porter Benoy, a walk by Brennon Faircloth, and a double by Jayden Rivera in the first inning. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Cedar Grove collected 14 hits and Southport 9 in the high-scoring affair.Southport scored 4 runs in the 4th inning. Storm's big inning was driven by singles from Drew Fisher and Josh Allen and a triple by Jackson Wall. Kaleb Faulders was credited with the victory for Cedar Grove. Faulders allowed four hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two. Jaden Gore threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Cedar Grove racked up 14 hits. Benoy, Wilson, Gore, Faulders, and Trey Evans each managed multiple hits for Cedar Grove. Benoy led the team with three hits in four at bats. The Mud Cats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Faircloth led the way with two.

The Seahawks finished the regular season in style by beating the Storm in Southport. Gage Hickman led the way on the mound as the winning pitcher. he also helped his own cause by picking up 3 hits. Eli Granade closed it out for the Seahawks. Joe Miglimore had 2 hits including a triple, Austin Smith had 2 hits including a double, Josiah Sneed hit a double and Dayton Smith, Connor Wilkerson and Drake Long all had hits in the contest.
Town Creek White Sox Almost Erases 8-Run Deficit in Loss to Mudcats
Cedar Grove built an eight-run lead in the third inning and then held off Town Creek's charge for a 12-10 victory on Monday. Town Creek managed seven runs in the failed comeback. Kaleb Faulders collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Cedar Grove to victory. Faulders singled twice in the first, singled in the thirst, and singled in the sixth. After Town Creek scored one run in the top of the sixth, the Mudcats answered with one of their own. The Sox scored when Dietz singled. Cooper Wilson got the win for the Mudcats. The pitcher allowed two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Gage Sellers, Wesley Wilson, Porter Benoy, and Teagun Strahley all securing outs and ultimately the victory. The Mudcats racked up 13 hits in the game. Faulders and Wilson both managed multiple hits for them. Faulders led the Mudcats with 4 hits in 5 at bats. Cedar Grove tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Faulders led the way with three.
