Current News and Information

Hello Parents!

We are going to try to have a practice Thursday, May 28th at 5:30 at the Brownhelm Fields. We will try and wrap up at 6:45.

Our next and final game will be this Saturday, May 30th at 1 PM at Vermillion field B. Please try and have your kids there 30 minutes early if possible. If its hot, please bring extra water/gatorade. We may still make the Spring Classic - stay tuned on that front.

On another note, I will be unable to attend the final game. I've been called to attend a conference in Chicago this weekend and have to go. I'm heartbroken that I won't be able to root the kids on and, more importantly, to thank them for all their hard work this Spring. They've all come a long way and it was a real pleasure to work with them all. More importantly, a special thanks to all of you for bringing your kids out for practice and games, supplying snacks and drinks and making sure they practiced when they could. None of this would happen without your support.

Finally, there was some discussion of the potential of having a short gathering after the game if folks are available. Please let me know if you are or you can, and we'll see about setting something up. We were thinking about maybe a small pizza party or something to that effect to celebrate the end of the season. If we have enough that can attend we will make it happen.

Thanks again, and Go Falcons!

Standing Information

For games, please have your kids there 20-30 minutes in advance so they can warm up, get checked in by the ref and we can prep them for the game. Extra waters and snacks will be available, but your kids are welcome to bring their own as well. If its cold/raining, please make sure your kids are dressed accordingly. We will try and have seating for them at every game. For games, every child is required to have shin guards, tennis shoes or soccer cleats (no football/baseball cleats), no jewelry and their jerseys.

Also, at U9 this year, we use size 4 balls.

For parents and kids who haven't played much soccer or are just starting, there are a couple of YouTube videos to watch below. It would be great if you and your kids could watch them together. Also, every Saturday and Sunday, NBCSN has Premier League English professional soccer (and sometimes on regular NBC at Noon either day). Its great for the kids to watch and see how the game is played on the professional levels as well!

Finally, the best thing your child can do when at home is to take the ball into the yard and play. Kick it around, dribble, move with the ball...basically just get used to having it at their feet. That's a great first step! They should also try to focus on using both feet on the ball. That's a really important skill to learn and will benefit them down the road.

One last item - and we have to ask this for insurance purposes - please do not bring your dogs to games. The league and fields are not insured for that.
