  2. No current “Collegiate Volleyball” players will be allowed in the league.
  3. If they made the high school team, they are not eligible to play the women’s fall league.
  4. Will play 6 x 6. Rosters will have 12 players maximum.
  5. An A league player can NOT play in B league, and a B league player can not play in A league (unless approved through the Recreation)
  6. The Recreation Department will need to approve exceptions due to mid-season injuries or other circumstances that we deem fit.
  7. All players MUST be listed on the roster and have signed the waiver by the third week of the season.
  8. Rosters shall be kept current at all times.
  9. Rosters also need to have “subs” on their roster. Once that person has signed that team’s roster, they can NOT “sub” for any other team.
  10. All players wishing to play in the league tournament MUST have played in at least HALF of the regular season games. Unless you have approved exceptions through the recreation department. Please make sure you are listed on the score sheet when you play.
  11. No uniforms or numbers are required. Shoes must be worn on the gym floor.
  12. Arrive at least 10 minutes before the game. Each team will have a 5 minute warm up. If the previous game ends late, teams will still be allowed 5 minutes to warm up. Must have at least 2 players to not forfeit
  13. Substitutions allowed in the center back position only. Unlimited substitutions per player.

  17. Only game not capped at 25 is championship game. (Championship must win by 2)
  18. If the volleyball hits the ceiling while crossing the net or crosses the net and hits the opposing team basket hoop, it is a point for the opposing team.
  19. On the serve, if the volleyball hits the basket on your own side, it is a re-serve.
  20. You only get one re-serve, if you hit the basket on the second serve it is a point for the other team.
  21. Hitting the net while blocking or crossing under the net, while blocking/hitting will result in a sideout and point for the opposing team.
  22. If the volleyball hits your own basket during your 3 hits, the ball is still live, and can be played.
  23. No playing the ball off of the curtain or the walls.
  24. No use of tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs or illegal use of drugs allowed. If caught with these items in the gym, the Site Supervisor will ask the player or spectator to leave.

NEPHI RECREATION PARTICIPANT & SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

Nephi Recreation promotes sportsmanship, respect, integrity and fair play in all of our programs. We are concerned about keeping a high standard of sportsmanship in each of our programs. Participants, parents, coaches, officials and Recreation staff should be able to feel like they are in a “safe” environment when they attend practices and games.

Nephi Recreation programs are focused on:

  • Fun
  • Life Skills:Teamwork & Communication (Understanding that sometimes we win and sometimes we lose)
  • Skill Development
  • Great Sportsmanship & Positive Attitude
  • Effort: Give 100%
  • Exercise & Good health

Behavior not acceptable includes:

♦ Profanity of any kind

♦ Arguing with officials, coaches or Recreation staff

♦ Abuse or harassing participants, officials, scorekeepers, or other spectators

♦ Smoking, drinking or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs while on City property

Coaches and Recreation staff will remind you about the Code of Conduct as needed but it is each individuals’ responsibility to adhere to the Code of Conduct. Consequences for not adhering to the Code of Conduct could include being asked by the Recreation Director or his representatives to be dismissed from the program site. Failure to leave the site could result in involvement of the Police Department. Actions could also lead to not being allowed to attend City sponsored functions in the future.
