BOARD MEETING MINUTES

 

 

October 19, 2012

Board Members Present

 

Tom Carlson, President

Board Members Absent:

 

None

 

Guests Present:  Hank Yates, Curt Chadwick, Dick Gwilt, Bobby Quarantino, Don Burrows, Paul Zuckerbrow, Mark Roberts, Alan Jones, John Spencer and Mike Burke.

 

Call to Order:  President Tom Carlson called Meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

 

The Minutes of the September 21, 2012 Board Meeting was reviewed and approved as written.

 

Old Business:

 

1.         Opening day itinerary was handed out.

 

2.         P.I.R. – training is scheduled for Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Phoenix International Raceway.

 

3.         All those that are participating at P.I.R. November 9th – 11th must attend training.

 

Committee and Director Updates:

 

1.         Financial Update ~ Norm Smith

 

a.       Financials were presented and were approved as presented.

2.         Marketing ~ Rich Elliott

a.       An update on banner sponsors and team sponsors was provided by Rich Elliott.

b.      Pinnacle Finance would like to serve popcorn at all Saturday games.

c.       Augie’s Sports Bar and Grill would like to offer all PCSSA players a 15% discount.

 

3.         Field Maintenance ~ Jim Tearpak

a.       Major field maintenance will be done on Thursday, October 25th at 9:00 a.m.

b.      Lining and dragging the field will be done on Friday, October 26th by the Board at 3:00 p.m.

c.       We need one player per team to learn to run the tractor.

d.      The 4th Thursday of each month is designated “major field maintenance” from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

 

4.                     Events Committee – Tom Carlson

a.       The Board voted and approved unanimously to serve sub-sandwiches opening day.

b.      Opening Day Sponsor Day will be Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

c.       The Jeremy Chandler Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser will be Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Ground Control (Litchfield Rd).  See website for details.

d.      Veteran’s Day Parade will be on Monday, November 12th.  The league is looking for volunteers to decorate a golf cart and walk in the parade.

 

5.                     Good of the League – Tom Carlson

a.       Team sponsor pictures have been scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

b.      A limited supply of gray softball shorts and pants have been ordered for those players who do not have the proper attire.

 

 

New Business:

None

 

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 a.m.  The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Tuscany Falls Sienna Room.
