2021 Adult Hockey League COVID19 Safety Protocol

These guidelines have been put together with guidance from Valparaiso Parks Department staff and requirements set by the Porter County Health Department.  Failure to adhere to these rules could result in a player being suspended from the league, the league being canceled, or the entire ice rink being shut down.  Please keep all this in mind while participating and be sure to follow the guidelines and encourage your teammates and all players to do so as well.  Stay safe and enjoy the season!

• All players will sign in and pick up wrist band on the East side of the concessions window.
• If a player is not feeling well or has recently been exposed to anyone who has tested positive, they should stay home.
• Players should arrive no more than 10 minutes before their scheduled game time on the South side of the barricade on Indiana Street.
• Players will enter on the South side of the barricade on Indiana Street.
• Players are required to wear a mask when not on the ice, including when they check in, while in the bench area, in the area between the rink and building and inside the Indiana Beverage Center.
• All staff and volunteers are required to wear masks when social distancing cannot be observed.
• Everyone must wear a mask inside the Indiana Beverage Center and also outside when not on the ice participating.
• Players should arrive as dressed as possible; they may enter the Indiana Beverage Center to finish getting ready and leave their belongings inside, but we do not want players completely “dressing down” to get prepared as they have in the past.
• No one other than players and staff will be allowed inside the Indiana Beverage Center or the rink. If players have fans that want to observe, they will have to do so from outside of the rink area and the barricades.
• At the conclusion of the game, players are permitted to “fist bump”.
  • Players are required to quickly remove skates, gather their belongings and exit the building. No congregating in the building; we have built in a time buffer in between games which should allow all participants to do so easily.
• We will have hand sanitizer on site.

 

League Website:  You may find the league schedule and standings on the QuickScores App after a search for Valparaiso.  While all the information is available on the app, the website does operate a bit more cleanly.  We suggest refreshing from time to time, especially when games have been cancelled or delayed so the schedule may update.
