Award

• All teams that enter a structure will be awarded 5 Cup points. The winners, as selected by the judges will receive an award. No additional points will be awarded.

Construction                 

• With the exception of the base, like a cookie sheet, all entries must be 100% edible with the major components (such as walls and roof) made of gingerbread, minor areas can be substituted with graham cracker. They can be decorated with candy or other edible embellishments. All icings and toppings must be edible, no caulking, spraying, or preserving can be used other than confections. No artificial interior materials may be used to construct or decorate the house. All candies/material must be unwrapped and free of any inedible materials.
• Entries must fit on an 18” x 18” base and should not be taller than 24”. No decorations should be placed on the sides of the base. Each submission needs to have the company’s name visible. Entries must be constructed in 2020
• Construction can be of any type of structure – each company is given the opportunity to be as creative as they wish to be. All structures need to comply with width and length guidelines. Gingerbread structures may be houses, train stations, barns, birdhouses, lighthouses, bridges, ships, or other imaginative dwellings.
• Each creation must have an element that will be eaten by the judges. This element does not have to be solely be gingerbread. It may be any type of good that corresponds with gingerbread building, the theme of your creation, or something that ties into the whole competition. If a submission does not have a designated element to be tasted by the judges, a zero will be given by the judges in the “deliciousness” category.
• All entries need to display either the company name or number given by competition officials. This can be done on a card or paper not attached to the gingerbread structure.

Judging

• Judging will be done during opening ceremonies, judging will begin at 11 am, on Feb. 1^st.
• Judges decisions are final, awards will be presented shortly after judging has been completed.

Drop off

• All entries must be dropped off, completed and ready to be judged by 10:30 am on Feb 1^st, 2020. Judging will begin at 11 am.
