2019 Northern Utah Rec. Baseball Championships
LEAGUE RULES FOR Jr. High DIVISION:

TOURNAMENT WILL PLAY ACCORDING TO NFHS (High School) BASEBALL RULES WITH THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS:

1. ALL LINE UPS (WITH NAMES AND NUMBERS) NEED TO BE TURNED IN TO THE OFFICIAL SITE SCOREKEEPER 15 MINUTES BEFORE GAME TIME. Each team shall have their own team scorekeeper also who records team score and pitching logs. Please have site scorekeepers sign your pitching logs.

2. Seven Innings or NO NEW INNING AFTER 1 Hour and 40 Minutes. Official Scorekeeper Shall Announce Game Time When the Home Team Takes the Field. 10 Run Mercy Rule after 5 innings (4.5 if Home Team is Ahead) or 1 hour and 30 Minutes.

3. TEAMS SHALL BAT THEIR LINEUP AND THERE IS FREE DEFENSIVE SUBSTITUTION.

4. Pitchers are eligible to pitch in any inning, whether they were the starting pitcher, relief pitcher, etc. Any pitch thrown in an inning, is considered an inning pitched. A PITCHER MAY ONLY PITCH 12 Innings per Calendar Week. Monday-Sunday. IF A PITCHER THROWS MORE THAN 3 INNINGS IN A DAY, HE MUST REST TWO DAYS BEFORE BEING ABLE TO PITCH AGAIN. (I.E. THROWS 4 INNINGS ON MONDAY – REST TUESDAY (DAY 1) and WEDNESDAY (DAY 2) – ELIGIBLE TO PITCH ON THURSDAY.

5. Base Distance Will Be 80 Feet. Pitching Distance is 54 Feet.

6. Bats cannot be more then 2 5/8 barrel. 2 ¾ barrel bats are not allowed. No Bat Length to Weight Restrictions. If an illegal bat is used, the batter will be declared out, all runners will return to the base occupied at the time of beginning of the at-bat and the Head Coach will be ejected.
The No. Utah Recreation Departments who have combined to make this tournament happen are excited about the opportunity to provide All-Star Recreation Baseball. Sportsmanship of the highest degree is expected and demanded. Criticism of players, coaches and umpires will not be tolerated. Those displaying negative behavior toward these individuals will be asked to leave the game site. Best of luck to all players and coaches!
