League By-Laws

(Provided by Clearfield Recreation)

  1. High School Federation Rules will be followed except for changes listed below.

Two 16 minutes halves will be played.  A running clock will be kept except for time-outs and all dead balls during the last two minutes of each half.

  2. Time-outs: 2 per half, they do not carry over.
  1. Overtime will be three minutes. Clock will stop for shooting fouls, time outs and all dead balls during last two minutes.  Each team has one time out during overtime, no carry over's from regulation.  If teams are still tied after 3 minute overtime then a “sudden death” overtime will be played.  Possession is determined by jump ball administered by the official.  The first team to score 3 points wins.  No clock or timeouts.
  1. Absolutely no unsportsmanlike behavior will be tolerated. Any player receiving a technical must sit out for 5 minutes of game time. If they receive a 2nd technical during the same game they will be ejected.  Any player, coach, or spectator that is ejected for  unsportsmanlike behavior will be asked to leave the premises for the remainder of that game, and

will be suspended from the next scheduled game. Score keepers have the authority to ask anyone to leave, if   they feel the need to keep control of the situation.  Anyone suspended twice during the  season will be disqualified from further league or tournament play for the remainder of the season.

  1. All games must start on time. Game time is forfeit time. Please arrive 15 minutes  early for games.  A team may begin and end a game with four players.
  1. Any defense is allowed. Teams may full court press, unless they are up more than 15 points. There will be a 15 point rule in place, meaning the score posted on the scoreboard will not exceed 15 points.

If up by  15 points, defense  cannot engage  the offense outside of the 3 point line.

  1. All players must play a minimum of 16 minutes. If a coach has a player who fails to meet this requirement, then that player will start and play a full 24 minutes in the next scheduled game (provided time allows for the rest of the team to play at least 16 minutes), and the coach will be suspended from the next scheduled game.  The easiest way to fulfill this requirement is to let each child play 1 full half.
  1. On the seventh team foul of each half, players will be given a one and one foul shot. On the tenth team foul and beyond, players will be given two shots.
