Risk Management:

The following Risk Management items must be completed for ALL LCSL and Community board members, volunteers and coaches to be incompliance with federal and state laws as well as Ohio Soccer Association's Safe Soccer Policy.
  • Background Check
  • Lindsay's Law
  • SafeSport Certification
  • Concussion Training Certification

Note, if the person is under 18, Safe Sport and Background checks do not apply.

Board members, volunteers and coaches will need to complete Coach/Manager registration with the Affiliation of "USYS" and Competitive Level of "Grassroots" for the Risk Management to appear on their Dashboard when they log into GotSport.

Users:

**NEW PROCESS**

Seasonally, each community will report their Board Members on the template listed below to LCSLRegistrar@gmail.com prior to the player registration due date.

Community Board Member List Template

Additionally, all Board Members need to be listed in the User section of GotSport. This should be reviewed and updated seasonally to ensure accuracy. See the steps below.

**If the board member is also a coach, use the email address of the coach account so that Risk Management is linked to the User.

How to Add a User

Editing Admin Module Permissions

If the User does not need access to sensitive data use the settings below:

Role: "Reader'

Module Permissions: "Analytics"

If someone does not have Risk Management options, follow the steps for How to Change the Affiliation and Competitive Level for Coaches and Managers and select the following options 'USYS' and 'Grassroots' role. This will prompt GotSport to have Grassroot Risk Management requirements appear on their dashboard when they log into their account.

Program Set Up:

Refer to GotSport Support for how to Create a Program. The following information is specific and required for Programs associated with LCSL.
Is your program the same as prior programs? Follow the steps of How to Clone a Program and make the updates for the current season.
Each community will have at least 2 programs. LCSL Player and Coach programs require Ohio Soccer Association and LCSL specific forms that are pushed down to your registrations. For this reason, you should have a separate program for any in-house and/or travel programs.
  1. Player
  2. Coach, Board and Volunteer
Programs must have the following settings. This means if your community has travel and club programs, you will need separate programs for LCSL due to these settings.
  1. Affiliation - "USYS"
  2. Competitive Level - "Grassroots"
This allows all players and coaches to have the correct affiliation which allows the correct forms, requirements and risk management to apply.

Select the appropriate Roles based on the Program.

Registration Set Up:

Note: LCSL already has the following Registration Forms set up, these will cascade down to all LCSL Community's registrations and are required to be completed. View the form details by clicking each link.
**You do not need to include a Proof of Age form for your community as you will be able to see the POA form uploaded for LCSL. This way the document does not require being uploaded twice during the registration process.

    Players Only:

  1. Proof of Age (birth certs, passports)
  2. Player Acknowledgement Form
  3. No Dogs at LCSL Games
  4. Picture Requirement Certification

    Players, Coaches, Managers:

  1. Referee Abuse Prevention Policy

    Ohio Soccer Association (OSA) Forms:

OSA also cascades the following forms down to all player registrations with the USYS Grassroots player registrations:
  1. OSA Lindsay Law
  2. OSA Player Registration Form
  3. OSA Player Concussion Information Sheet

Teams: Creating / Updating

**NEW PROCESS**

Fall Seasons:

Every Fall season you have the option to register existing teams or creating all new teams. When registering existing teams, follow the steps below:

    Existing Teams

  1. Update the Team Name, if needed (see below regarding Team Names)
  2. Reset Team Rosters (Coaches & Players)
  3. You do not need to change the age group. It will automatically update August 1

Spring Seasons:

In the spring, teams that have already been registered to LCSL's event for the Fall does NOT need to be registered again. They will be unlocked so changes can be made.

Creating a Team:

Follow the Creating a Team instructions and apply the LCSL specific details below:

   Team Name:

  • Name the team with how you will identify it. Team names will no longer include the community name or age group, as they did in the 2024–2025 season. This change allows for the registration of existing teams each fall and aligns with our understanding of the invoicing process.
Example of a Team Name: 'Smith'  'Team Smith'   'Coach Smith & Jones'

    Affiliation/Competitive Level:

  • Affiliation - "USYS"
  • Competitive Level - "Grassroots"

    Gender:

  • All LCSL Teams are COED. If you have a all Boys or all Girls team then please indicate that here. This should align with the Team Commitment form.

    Age Group:

  • Fall - For teams created prior to August 1, use the current age group of the team. On August 1, GotSport will age all teams up for the Fall. For example, for a Fall U7 team created in June, assign U6 as the age group.

  • Spring - Select the current age group of the team.

   Competitive Level

  • Grassroots

  3. Requests for Roster reviews and changes will be done through GotSport.
Follow the Rostering via Roster Builder instructions to ensure all new steps and requirements are followed.

Over Roster Requests:

1-2 players over roster can be submitted with your team without a separate request.
