Quick Tip #82 - Player Notifications and Electronic Waivers

Picking teams on a playground Back in the day, when teams were picked on the playground, you knew which team you were on and got right to playing. In the adult world, there is often extra paperwork and legal rules that slow down the process before fun and games can begin.

QuickScores has made a few changes to speed up roster management in our digital world.

Notify players when placed on a roster
We are now sending an email to players when they are entered onto a roster. The notification will encourage the player to click a link in order to register with QuickScores and manage their profile information.

As a reminder, you, the administrator, do not need to type in all the player info yourself. You can choose to let the coaches enter their own rosters.

Allow players to electronically sign the waiver
We all have waivers that need to be signed. In addition to the standard printable waiver, QuickScores has added a way for players to sign their waiver electronically. If enabled by your organization, players that sign into QuickScores (uniquely identifying themselves with their own email address and password) will be presented with the waiver to be signed online.

On the Roster Settings page, after entering the waiver text, there is a new drop-down selector to choose how players can sign: Print Only, Online Only, or Allow Both. Any information that you want filled out by the player (phone number, address, birth date, etc.) will have input fields on the waiver, in addition to the legalese text.

Allow players to decline a roster spot
If you have issues with coaches adding players that don't want to be on that team, we have added an option where players can remove themselves from the roster. As the administrator, from the Sport or Event Options page, you can turn on the "Allow players to decline roster spot" setting. The notification email received by the player will then include a link allowing them to decline and remove themselves from the roster.
