Quick Tip #79 - "Mini bracket" helps solve your pool play conundrum

Single Elimination plus 3rd/4th bracket Probably the most common format for pool tournaments is three games guaranteed. With two games in pool play and all teams advancing to bracket play, this works perfectly using three team pools. Everyone plays each other once and you get a good seeding for the bracket.

But if you have to use four team pools, a wrench is thrown into the works... Do you play an extra game in pool play? Or stick with two games and not play everyone in the pool?

QuickScores now has a different solution where your four team pools play a "mini bracket" for their pool play. The teams are paired off for their first game,

then the winners play for 1st and 2nd places in the pool and the losers play for 3rd and 4th places. This way, each team still gets two games and all the teams are fairly ranked in their pool.

This option will show up at the top of the Time Slots page where you define how many games each pool should play. Try it out for your next pool tournament!
