Quick Tip #72 - Cornucopia of seven enhancements you asked for
Cornucopia

We're approaching Thanksgiving, the time when we all should be thankful for the good things in our lives. We are certainly thankful for your continued use of our service. I hope you're thankful that QuickScores makes your sports duties easier and more efficient. We at QuickScores are continually working to make our service better and better, usually with ideas that come from our loyal clients.

The following are just some of the enhancements we've made since our total facelift in August.

Colored Cells Return to Excel Exports
A few months ago we installed a more reliable method of exporting to Excel, but unfortunately the new method only output in black and white. The colored cells were greatly missed on the Games Report, so we fixed the exporting to allow each league to once again have a different background color.
Officials Cannot See Assignments Until They are Final
Some assignors prefer to withhold notifications as they make tentative assignments of officials to all of their games. They then move officials around until they get it just right before finally sending out the notifications. Unfortunately, some officials jump in early and see the tentative assignments. We have now changed the code so that officials cannot see assignments until the notifications have been sent.
Core Sports
QuickScores currently supports more than 85 sports and the list is always growing. The vast majority of you only run a handful of core sports (baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball) so why should your drop-downs list all 85 sports? We have simplified your sports list down to the two dozen most common sports plus any other sports you were already using. To fully customize your sports list, go to Setup » Sports Setup » Select My Sports.
Display Through Date on Tournaments
We have long had the ability to only display a league schedule up through a user-specified date. We have now extended that concept so that the Display Through Date also applies to tournament brackets.
Detect When Two Teams Play Each Other Twice Too Quickly
At the end of the Edit Schedule page, we display several tables showing how well the games are distributed across each day, time, location, opponent, etc. We added a new distribution table that shows when a team plays each opponent, and it highlights any places where two teams play each other twice within two weeks.
Embedded Schedules Can Now Be Limited to a Sport
Our API page explains two different methods of embedding QuickScores schedules in your own website. The most popular approach, using iFrames, has just been enhanced so that you can limit the embedded schedules to a single sport.
Sub-Events are More Prominent
Sub-Events allow you to create multiple playoff brackets at the end of a league or tournament. After the facelift of our Manage Events page, it was very difficult to differentiate a main event from a sub-event. Now, sub-events are once again easily distinguished.
