Quick Tip #40 - Assign Game Officials
their contact information, automatically being notified of game assignments, and the ability to accept or decline games online. The usual email and texting capabilities (available for coaches) are also available for contacting registered officials. Extensive reporting is available to show the game assignments and whether games have been accepted or declined. Once games have been played, reports can be generated for specific dates to show who officiated which games and to total up the user-defined pay rates for each official. This Earnings Report can be printed or downloaded to a spreadsheet. These features are available to all organizations. Starting in 2012, events that use the Officials feature will be billed at a rate of an additional $2 per team for regular leagues or $1 per team for stand-alone tournaments, over and above the normal $6 or $3 rate. The Officials feature can be used for any leagues or tournaments, but only those leagues or tournaments where officials are assigned will be charged the additional fee. See the Pricing Sheet for more details. The good news is that the Officials function is FREE for all leagues that start before January 1, 2012. So try it out over the next couple months and let us know what you think. It’s easy to get started. Simply click “Officials” in the left menu bar. From there, you start to build your list of officials. Once your list is complete, click on “Assign Officials” on the left menu bar under “Officials” to start assigning them. It’s that easy. Of course, there are many more options and capabilities which are outlined in the Introduction to Officials help document. We think you will find this to be a great value and it will make your life much easier.
