Quick Tip #25 - When Is One Location REALLY Two or Three?
Wanted poster of unknown person

Many organizations split their facilities into smaller parts. Sometimes they use a full basketball court for adult games and sometimes they use half courts for two kid’s games. The same may be true of hockey rinks or soccer fields.

To schedule those events in QuickScores, you must define a location for the full court and two more locations for each half court, with the unfortunate possibility of double scheduling those locations. However, with recent changes, those locations can now be defined as overlapping and QuickScores will alert you if there’s a conflict.

It’s fairly easy to do. Once each of the locations are defined, click on LOCATIONS in the left menu bar. Next click the SET OVERLAPPING LOCATIONS button in the upper right part of the screen. From the drop-downs in the yellow bar, select two locations that overlap, such as FULL COURT and HALF COURT A. Click the ADD OVERLAP button. Next select FULL COURT and HALF COURT B. Again click the ADD OVERLAP button. There is no need to set an overlap for HALF COURT A and HALF COURT B since they can have simultaneous games. You can repeat this process to add as many “overlaps” as you want, no matter what your locations are, even if you divide it into more than two pieces.

You’re done, and now QuickScores goes to work to make sure there are not conflicts between your full court and your half court games.
