ASEP “AMERICAN SPORT EDUCATION PROGRAM” The Tinley Park-Park District has a certification requirement for coaches participating in youth sports. ASEP has been designed to improve amateur sports by encouraging coaches, officials, administrators, parents, and athletes to embrace the “athletes first, winning second” philosophy and by providing the education to put the philosophy to work. The program also provides a good deal of training in coaching techniques, first aid and sport specific information. ASEP reinforces the Park District’s philosophy that we have the best interest of the children in mind. Coaches who successfully complete the on-line course will receive a certification valid for three years and a 50% household refund towards the registration of their child for that particular activity only. Volunteer coaches must complete a volunteer application prior to the registration deadline for the sport they wish to coach. Forms must be completed and submitted to Mike Hayes at the Bettenhausen Recreation Center. Coaches will be determined on a first come, first served basis. FRIENDSHSIP REQUEST PROCEDURES If a friendship request is made, it must match another participant’s request to be honored. Participants are only allowed to make one request. We will try to fulfill a reasonable number of friendship requests, but it is not guaranteed. Siblings will be placed on the same team unless otherwise noted. Requests for specific coaches may not be honored. Requests made after the registration deadline will not be honored. Coaches are not allowed to make request. YOUTH SPORTS REFUNDS Refunds will be granted before the registration deadline only and may be pro-rated if uniforms have been ordered. ADULT ATHLETIC LEAGUE REGISTATION AND REFUNDS Entire fee due at registration. Full refunds will be processed within one month for teams requiring sponsorship. All teams must register as Non-residents. Resident rates will be granted after a 100% proof of residency is submitted. Full refunds will be granted before the registration deadline only and will be pro-rated if uniforms have been ordered. After the registration deadline $75 is non refundable, in addition to uniform charges. No refunds will be granted once the season begins.
