Click Here for Flag Football Rules -Commonly Asked Sports Questions – 1. Can my son get on the same team as his friend? Yes, he can play on the same team for sure if he is on a pre-formed team with a coach. Meeting special requests for individual players is very difficult when forming teams with lots of individual players. The sports director will do the best that he can to meet your special request. If you would like to ensure that your child is on the same team as a friend then form your own team and have a parent be the coach. 2. What day of the week do the teams practice? The practice days and times are up to the coach. Practices are generally anywhere from 5pm-8pm one to two times a week. Your coach will contact you before the season starts to let you know when the first practice is. Please attend the scheduled parents meeting at the Copper Basin YMCA 3. What time are the games? Game times will vary depending on how many teams we will accommodate. The summer season games will take place on Saturday mornings. 4. Will there be travel involved outside of Copper Basin? As of right now, all of our basketball, soccer and baseball games will be played at Copper Basin Elementary School. 5. I can’t afford more than $30.00. What do I do? We offer financial aid for those who can’t afford to play. We will never turn away anyone because of money issues. You will need to fill out a financial aid form and provide proof of income and tax documentation. We will then make a determination of your co-pay. 6. Who will be the coach of our team? All of our coaches are on a volunteer basis. We are always looking for those people who love to teach and inspire kids by giving their time to make sports a fun learning experience for all who participate. You will meet your coach at the scheduled Parent Coach Tip–Off meeting. Michael Caron Sports Director (480) 882-2242 mcaron@vosymca.org |
