You don’t win once in a while, you don’t do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit, unfortunately so is losing.” And win they did! Tuboscope scored all 5 runs in the first inning and had a huge lead but unfortunately, they played Lacy Painting and they usually score more than 5 in a game and this time they did. The biggest surprise of the game was that Lacy Painting didn’t hit any homeruns, first time this season they have failed to do so. Rich Taylor and Smiley had 3 hits each for Lacy. Larry Disney led Tuboscope with 4 hits and Steve Schmitz had 3.

The 2008 Detroit Lions, the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now the 2009 Buckoles Softball team. What do they have in common? They have all managed to go winless in a season. But there is something that the Bucks get that the others didn’t, a playoff birth. Everyone makes the playoffs, they still have a chance to turn it around and notch a W before the season is over. The bad thing, they play State Farm again.

What an upset, the Bombers find a way to knock off Lacy Painting. Doug Hunt had this to say in regards to the Bombers pitcher, “He (Les Clark) was throwing unhittable stuff tonight, literally, he threw pitches over our heads, balls at our feet, and he even rolled a pitch like he was bowling to one of our batters. He is never going to get the call to the big leagues pitching like that.” Dodgertown Tommy had 4 hits in the win and HEYYY KOOL AID! had 3.

Devons Body Shop takes down Tuboscope in an exciting match up to tie their longest win streak this season of 1 in a row. But this was just a warm up game, these two teams will lock horns again Tuesday night when they will square off again in the playoffs. Rick Hood spoke with the media after the game, “There are 2 theories on hitting a knuckleball and unfornately for them, neither of them work. I didn’t show that pitch tonight but they will see plenty of it in the playoffs.”

The Maniacs turn in a spotless record after the regular season. This game had a bit of an asterisk though, Ventura was down half of their Massey clan which make up a big part of their offensive attack. Alan Miller said “Boom goes the Dynamite!” as he welcomed Jerry Liebenow to his 1st major league start on the mound by taking one over the trees. Buddy Owens and Tiffany Yaws both contributed with a couple of hits apeice.

The Bombers notch another victory, this time at the expense of the Tumbleweeds. There is some bad blood between these 2 bitter rivals. Sharon Smith had earlier accused Clark of throwing dirty pitches and his famous “Spit-Ball.” But there has been no word from the Comissioner’s Office if there is an official investigation but sources say that they are reviewing the tapes of his games. Les Clark said this in response, “You play to win the game! And I will do whatever it takes to win, period.
