This special event benefits Shoes for Kids and Sertoma Club of Watauga. The Watauga Sertoma Club (SERvice TO MAnkind) is the only civic service club in the city and we have focused on working with the four public schools which are designated as Title I facilities with over 50% of the students from low income families.

Our signature project is "Shoes for Kids." Some activities, such as physical education, require students to have special shoes, which some families can't afford. We provide school nurses with gift cards to the Watauga Payless Shoesource, which are in turn given to the kids so they have the means to be fully engaged in the life of the school. We also fund a stock of basic clothing items for emergencies.
