Practices & games are automatically canceled if schools are closed or dismissed early due to weather. When in doubt about cancellations due to weather, call 203-378-2606 for a recorded message or for the easiest way to check on the status of games and practices, see notices posted at www.quickscores.com/sterlinghouse.
GYM RULES: No food or drinks allowed. No bouncing of basketballs in hallways. No one is allowed to roam in any of the schools that we use. Adults are responsible for their own behavior and that of non-playing children brought to games and practices.
Sportsmanship and Player, Coach & Spectator Behavior
The Sterling House youth basketball league is a recreational league that promotes fun, development, participation and sportsmanship; official records and standings are not kept in the U8 Division. All team members must play at least 1/2 of every game.
Spectators are encouraged to cheer for all players, regardless of team affiliation. Negative comments, coaching players, taunting players, criticizing referees, and any other poor sportsmanship will not be allowed and can lead to ejection from the gym. Let the coaches coach and let the referees officiate.
Recognize good sportsmanship by nominating players, coaches, & referees for the 21st Annual Diaz Sportsmanship Award. Send nominations to Bill at bobrien@sterlinghousecc.org.
