Rules

 

 

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department Adult Softball League will be conducted under USSSA rules, except as amended herein. The following local rules/procedures take precedence in all cases.

 

  1. Teams must turn in a completed roster prior to the first game. Roster must be approved prior to play.
  2. Players may not play on more than one team in different divisions.
  • Example: if there is a Men’s Intermediate and Recreational Division, he can only play in one.
  • Players can play Men’s /Women and Coed.
  1. All players must also be listed on official lineup card for each game. Please pick up your line up cards for the first two games at check in. You must list first and last name as well as jersey # on the lineup card.
  2. All players must have similar color shirt with no duplicate numbers.
  3. Straight double elimination bracket. 50 minute game times. Game time is forfeit time. NO EXECPTIONS.
  4. Home team will be determined by coin flip. Championship game undefeated team will be home. In the event that there is an “if game” teams will flip for home.
  5. Home team is the official book. Officials will be noting scores on the line up cards. Please check score on each half inning to make sure everyone has the same score.
  6. Players must be 18 and older to play and must have a picture id for all games. Field supervisors can check rosters/ ID’s at any point in the tournament.
  7. Players must be in dugout to be counted.
  8. Home runs are as follows:
  • Women: Unlimited
  • Mens C: 2 ( Can buy up to 4 more)
  • Mens D: 2 ( Can buy up to 2 more)
  • Mens E: 0 ( Can buy up to 2 more)
  • Coed Int.: 2 ( Can buy up to 2 more)
  • Coed Rec: 0 ( Can buy up to 2 more)
  1. Teams can purchase home runs throughout tournament (HR’s must be presented to umpire before game starts; if the HR’s are not used they are lost.)
  2. Run Rules: 20 @ 3, 15 @ 4, 10 @ 5
  3. Official Balls:  Teams must furnish and bat their own ball. Men, 12” softball COR .40, compression 410(Classic M) Women, 11” softball COR .44 compression 400(Classic W). Continued use of any ball will be up to the discretion of the umpire and/or tournament director.
  4.  All bats must have the USSSA thumb print. No fast pitch bats will be allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
  5. Any team/player found using an illegal bat will be subject to disciplinary actions.
  6. Courtesy runner (s) may be used once per inning (Men’s & Women’s Divisions) and twice per inning (one male & one female for Coed). Runner can be any player on the roster of the same gender. If the runner comes to bat while on base it is an out.
  7.  Ejection from game is suspension from current game. Players or managers continued participation in the tournament after an ejection will be at discretion of tournament director. Two ejections from any division in the same tournament will result in tournament expulsion.
  8. Unsportsmanlike conduct directed toward any official, player, coach or spectator will not be tolerated. The penalty for this behavior can be ejection for the entire tournament.
  9. Alcohol and Smoking is not allowed in the Park. If caught drinking, you will be ejected from the Park for the rest of the tournament.  Do not drink in the Parking lots as they are considered a part of the Park.
  10. Games times/format and locations may be changed due to inclement weather. Game status may be checked on www.quickscores.com/elpaso.
  11. Protests must be submitted prior to the last out of the game in question. Rulings on Protests are final and cannot be appealed.
