SAY Concussion Policy and Referee Training
In accordance with SAY National's policies regarding concussions, ALL SAY Referees are REQUIRED to take and complete a concussion training course. SAY recommends taking the concussion training course created and maintained by the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS). The NFHS Concussion course is FREE, and the certification received is good for three years.
All referees are responsible for providing their local assignor a copy of their completed course certificate and ensuring it is maintained in good order. Referee assignors and administrators are responsible for maintaining compliance with the concussion policy, and ensuring their staffs are up to date with regard to concussion training. Referees who fail to complete the course or who do not maintian their concussion training are not allowed to referee in CincyCentral SAY.
SAY Referee Send-Off Report
In the event of a red card send-off being issued, SAY Referees MUST complete the SAY REFEREE REPORT FOR SEND-OFFS within 48 hours of the event. This report is essential in determining what type of additional sanction may be given.
