  Bright Beginnings Preschool Bright Beginnings Preschool at the YMCA emphasizes a hands-on learning curriculum, motor skill development, creativity and more! We provide a safe nurturing opportunity for your preschooler to learn life skills such as making friends, exhibiting good sportsmanship, and respecting others. Pre-K afternoon classes will begin September 4th, with the morning class beginning on September 5th. Our half-day preschool includes creative learning, music & movement, pre-writing & writing, reading readiness, arts & crafts, centers, devotions and more. Our teachers are the heart of the program. They have years of experience working with children and know how to teach children through play. They utilize center-based activities to teach our eight core content areas: literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, arts, technology, healthy habits and social responsibility. The Y preschool is unique in that it sets individual goals and objectives for each child in a fun, safe enfironment. Our preschool also offers a gymnastics day, swimming day and gym day to help promote large motor development. It also helps ease your child's transition into our other YMCA programs such as swimming lessons, gymnastics and team sports. Morning Class 8:15-8:45 ... arrival, fine motor activities, reading, grouptime, fingerplays, weather frog and theme for the week. 8:45-10:00 ... centers, small group time and large group games. 10:00-10:15 ... clean up. 10:15-10:30 ... snack. 10:30-11:00 ... "Specials" (Gymnastics, gym or swimming time) 11:00-11:15 ... closing and departure. Afternoon 5 Day Program 12:00-12:45 ... arrival, fine motor activities, reading, grouptime, fingerplays, weather from and theme for the week. 12:45-2:00 ... centers, small group time and large group games. 2:00-2:05 ... clean up 2:05-2:15 ... snack 2:15-2:45 ...
